we love jewelry and we love Iceland!
We met and fell in love in February 2022. 🥰
Iceland was at the top of both our bucket lists. In October 2022, the time finally came – we set off across the country in a camper van for 14 days. From waterfalls to geysers, from moss-covered lava fields to glaciers. The unique and diverse landscape, the hospitality, and the spectacular natural phenomena immediately captivated us.
The proposal on the last morning of the road trip was unplanned, but all the more beautiful. 💍
No ring at hand 😲 but the improvisation was very well received and she said 'YES'. 🥳
But back to jewelry - after our trip to Iceland, we started the adventure of our little jewelry brand in 2023 with two of our best friends.
In June '23 we took the first collections to Iceland, where we opened our online shop for the national holiday.
The launch of FILJÓS! 🥰
A brand that allows us to express our ideas about jewelry and reflect our enthusiasm for Iceland.
A brand made up of fire (Fire), ice (Ice) and light (Ljós), which is how our brand name is composed.
A brand that doesn't just make jewelry, but also gives something back to people, animals, and the environment. That was very important to us.

Where does the name FILJÓS come from?
Our brand name is made up of three components:
F - for Fire
I - for Ice
Ljós - for the Northern Lights (Icelandic light)
This is how our brand name was born: FILJÓS.
Iceland is also known as the land of fire and ice. The light represents the Northern Lights; we couldn't have found a better brand name for ourselves.
